    Chanté W. M. Francis

Chanté W.M. Francis joined Kelsick, Wilkin & Ferdinand as an associate attorney-at-law in January 2023 from the beautiful island of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Although altruism is not Chanté’s only passion, it certainly is the one that most drives her career. Chanté strongly believes that practicing law places her in the best position to ensure that at least one life has breathed easier because she has lived; this she believes is the only thing that truly represents success. She is determined to make significant contributions to the region’s jurisprudence, especially in matters that are likely to assist in the redemption of certain social conditions within her society.

In 2018, Chanté graduated from the University of the West Indies (“UWI”), Cave Hill Campus with a Bachelor of Laws Degree with First Class Honours. During her stay at UWI, she received four Dean’s List Awards and was awarded the Telesford George’s Memorial Scholarship for outstanding academic performance in her first academic year.

During her academic journey at UWI, Chanté served as the Constitutional Chairperson of the Vincentian Student Association, the Treasurer of Block 5 on the Frank Worrell Hall and the Supervisor of General Elections for the UWI Guild.

Chanté then obtained her Legal Education Certificate at the Hugh Wooding Law School in 2020, graduating on the Principal’s Roll of Honour with the Oswald J. Wilson Memorial Prize for the best performance in Landlord and Tenant Law and the R. Andrew Cummings QC award for the best performing Vincentian student.

Chanté joined the legal fraternity in December 2020, having been called to the Bar of St. Vincent and the Grenadines to practice as a Solicitor and Barrister. Prior to joining our firm, Chanté practised in a wide range of legal areas at a reputable firm in her homeland while sitting on the Housing and Land Development Corporation Board and tutoring young aspiring legal practitioners privately. She is, also, licensed to practise in the Federation of St. Christopher and Nevis, having been called to the bar here in January 2023.

She now enjoys the intimacy of the rich tapestry of society encapsulated in the legal profession– from its darkest corners to its most virtuous stages- as she practises with her new family at Kelsick, Wilkin & Ferdinand.
